Hi, I’m Brennan -
As a Mental Health Counseling student and intern, I am skilled in psychodynamic therapy with a focus on parts- and acceptance-based techniques. As well, having studied Japanese Buddhism at Cornell University, I find that mindfulness and presence is vital to the healing properties of therapy. I am interested in helping clients with anxiety/depression, self-esteem issues, and interpersonal relationship troubles. Most importantly, my counseling will focus heavily on the counselor-client connection to foster a microcosm of healing. As such, my therapeutic space will always be warm, welcoming, safe, and accepting to all who may enter.
I rely on deep, attentive listening to connect recurring themes of the past to help explain who we are in the here-and-now. The people and experiences of our lives culminated into the person we are today. Learning to be aware of and accepting of these parts of ourselves through the therapeutic relationship can help us better understand the lives we lead.
Whether you’re going through a rough patch in your life, navigating a new environment, or simply looking for a safe space to express your emotions, I will be here for you. Reaching out is a brave first-step, however fulfilling change can be made, together.
